UCA students participate in many fine arts and academic competitions. Each year, students through grade 8 participate in the Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) regional and state competition in such events as Ready Writing, Music Memory, Art Memory, Math & others.
Students in 9-12th grades participate in TAPPS scholastic competitions.
UCA teachers also submit selected literary and visual art pieces to the annual Southwest Texas Junior College Creative Arts Contest, with numerous students placing and/or winning their categories.
